Plan your statement:
Discuss your Big Idea in general: What were you hoping to achieve with your work?
Discuss how you explored your Big Idea in subthemes: What other ideas did you explore?
Discuss your Personal Connections to this idea: Why is it relevant to you?
Discuss the Processes and Media you incorporated into your work and why
Write your Artist Statement:
Compose as a coherent statement in a paragraph, not a list.
Type your finished statement, mount on black paper and submit with your work.
Post on your Process Blog (as a blog entry) AND on the main page of your webpage
NOTE: The goal is not to explain your work, so much as to help the viewer understand your ideas and your process.
